World Beer Festival Raleigh coming to Moore Square Saturday April 11th

The 10th Annual World Beer Festival Raleigh takes place on Saturday April 11th at Moore Square Park downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. A Raleigh favorite, the festival sponsored by All About Beer Magazine and Beers Made by Walking is a celebration of beer and the craft of beer brewing.

This year's festival will have several educational components in addition to food, entertainment and of course....... mmm beer. (Insert Homer Simpson voice)

As Kelly Parisi of All About Beer puts it, "There will be several small festivals within one festival."

One of these mini -festivals with an educational component is the unique Beers Made by Walking Festival.

Brewers are encouraged to use ingredients typically found along the trail during a walk in the woods or an urban hike down the street. Festival goers will be able to sample up to 10 beers crafted using unusual ingredients such as spruce tips, yarrow, mushrooms and other ingredients inspired by Mother Nature.

The Belgian Bier Festival will allow visitors to enjoy the Belgian Bier Garden and samplings of beer from one of the most exotic beer countries in the world. There are 10 breweries confirmed to provide 20 different samples of beer crafted in the Belgian-style.

Promising to be another crowd-pleaser is the NC Beer Festival.   North Carolina has an abundance of locally brewed beers and this is the perfect place for trying offerings from around town and around the state. The exclusive show case of North Carolina beers will serve 50 samples from 30 North Carolina Breweries. As their website states, "The NC Beer Garden is its own adventure."

Along with a wealth of beer, there will be food trucks. A food truck rodeo comprised of eight trucks will be on hand serving a variety of culinary styles to complement the sudsy beverages.

There will also be plenty of musical entertainment. Local favorite, Chris Overstreet is slated to perform at the noon to 4pm session and a yet to be announced performer will be playing the 6 pm-10 pm session.

The general admission fee of $50 includes a 4 oz. tasting glass and unlimited samplings.

The $100 VIP admission fee includes a 4 oz. tasting glass, unlimited samplings and; "access to a private, air-conditioned lounge in the brand new 214 Martin building, which includes private and indoor bathrooms. From the loft upstairs in the lounge VIPs will have a full view of the festival. VIPs will also enjoy an upscale food buffet and bonus selection of over thirty different rare & distinctive beers not available to the general admission. VIPS will also get a special festival gift and a complimentary half-year subscription to All About Beer Magazine, the nation’s leading publication for beer lovers."
